Ryan Berchelmann

Although he’s from the Cypress area of Houston, Texas, Ryan Berchelmann grew up summering in Ecuador, where he learned to speak fluent Spanish.

Ryan received his BBA in International Business and Economics and his MBA in Management from Sam Houston State University, where he was a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. After spending some time in the business world, he returned to academia to obtain his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the South Texas College of Law.

Ryan joined the law firm of Stewart J. Guss in 2016, focusing his legal career on personal injury cases involving motor vehicle collisions, trucking collisions, and premises liability. He dedicates his time to fighting for the rights of injured victims and their families, and he has the extensive trial experience to prove it. In addition to his proven skills for obtaining substantial settlements, Ryan is also appreciated by all for his ability to relate to clients.

Why did you get into Personal Injury Law? 

“It’s the area of the law where I feel I can do the most good for people. You get to help people who have been hurt and help them get through a tough situation. It can be a very satisfying area to practice in if you enjoy helping people.”

What does “client first” mean to you? 

“It means keeping in mind that clients are the reason that we do what we do. There are a lot of personal injury lawyers out there, and out of all of them, the client chose us to represent them. They trust us, and it’s a huge honor. I want to reciprocate that honor by letting the client know we’re always there for them.”

What does it mean to you to work for Stewart J Guss, Attorney at Law? 

“It is an absolute honor. I really enjoy the culture of the firm, and I am proud to be a part of a law firm that has grown so much.”

Do you have any hidden talents or surprising hobbies? 

“I earned a black belt in kung fu while in college.”

What did you think you were going to be when growing up? 

“I thought I would wind up doing something involving international business. I spent a lot of time in South America while growing up and always enjoyed being abroad.”

What is your go-to comfort food? 

“Pizza. Hands down.”

What is your favorite TV show or movie? 

“I know it’s old, but I really enjoyed The Sopranos.”
