Carrying Forward Stewart’s Vision

Stewart J. Guss believed justice should never be limited by a person’s financial situation. Through a contingency-fee model, he fought for clients who might otherwise have been unable to pursue their claims, giving each person the time, attention, and dedication they deserved.

That belief remains at the heart of the firm. The attorneys and team members leading Trust Guss Injury Lawyers today were mentored by Stewart directly, and they carry his values forward with the same resolve he brought to every case.

Built for the Courtroom

Trust Guss Injury Lawyers is not a settlement mill. Every case we take is prepared as if it will go to trial, because when insurance companies know you’re ready to fight, they negotiate differently.

Our litigation team includes a former elected Harris County district court judge, an attorney who is board-certified in personal injury trial law, and Super Lawyers honorees who have tried cases before judges and juries across Texas and beyond. That depth is why insurance companies take us seriously at the negotiating table.

When negotiations stall, we go to court. And we fight for every dollar you deserve.

Matthew Bonilla

Matthew Bonilla — Attorney, Chief Operating Officer

Matt Bonilla has been with Trust Guss Injury Lawyers since 2016 and now leads the firm’s strategic planning, legal compliance, operational management, and cross-departmental growth as Chief Operating Officer. His passion for personal injury law runs in his family — he grew up watching relatives practice in the field and witnessed first-hand the impact a dedicated attorney can have on someone facing hardship.

A National Hispanic Scholar, Matt holds a BBA in Finance from SMU Cox School of Business, an MBA from the Naveen Jindal School of Management at UT Dallas, and his JD from South Texas College of Law Houston. He is a four-time Texas Super Lawyers Rising Star — a peer-nominated honor awarded to no more than 2.5% of Texas attorneys — and an active member of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, and National Trial Lawyers. His practice has focused on personal injury including catastrophic injury and wrongful death, with deep experience in litigation, negotiation, and prelitigation strategy.

Brian Page — Chief Legal Officer

Brian Page serves as Chief Legal Officer of Trust Guss Injury Lawyers, overseeing the firm’s legal practice with a focus on results and client advocacy. A Super Lawyers nominee, Brian has dedicated his career exclusively to personal injury law, trying cases before both judges and juries across multiple jurisdictions. His motivation came directly from Hurricane Katrina, after which he witnessed insurance companies prioritizing profit over people — an injustice he refused to accept as standard practice.

Brian earned his JD from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and brings extensive experience in personal injury and insurance litigation. Before joining Trust Guss, he served as an attorney at the Robichaux Law Firm. He has been recognized for his approach to communication and client trust in high-volume case environments and has represented the firm at industry events including the Case Status Client Experience Summit.

Scot Dollinger

Scot Dollinger — Senior Litigation Attorney, Former Harris County District Court Judge

Scot Dollinger brings a credential few personal injury attorneys can match: he has served on both sides of the courtroom, as a trial attorney and as a sitting judge. Elected to the 189th Civil District Court of Harris County, Texas in 2018, Scot presided over personal injury, commercial, and civil rights cases and tried 45 jury trials from the bench. Before taking the bench, he tried more than 30 jury trials as a practicing attorney, litigated cases in over 60 Texas counties, and argued before every U.S. District Court in Texas as well as the Supreme Court of the United States.

Scot earned his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and his JD from Emory University School of Law, where he graduated in 1987. He began his career as a law clerk for U.S. District Judge Howell Cobb in the Eastern District of Texas. He also served as Senior Litigation Counsel for Travelers Insurance Company, giving him a rare insider perspective on how insurance companies build and defend cases. Scot holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell — the highest possible peer rating — and is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a prestigious organization requiring demonstrated trial experience for membership. With over 35 years practicing law and a judge’s understanding of how courts weigh evidence and arguments, Scot brings an unmatched strategic perspective to every case he handles at Trust Guss.
